How to check in online with Norwegian Air Shuttle

Have your booking reference and ID ready
You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

Enter passenger details
Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

Choose seats and add extras
Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

Save the boarding pass
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The Norwegian Air Shuttle app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common Norwegian Air Shuttle check-in problems
LowFare excludes checked bag
Problem: Norwegian's cheapest LowFare excludes any checked baggage and seat selection.
Solution: Pre-pay during booking (~€16) or upgrade to LowFare+ which includes 20 kg + free seat selection.
Seat selection at check-in is paid
Problem: If you didn't pre-pay seat selection, you can't choose at the 24-hour check-in mark — random seat assigned.
Solution: Pay for seat at booking (cheaper) or accept random allocation. To sit together as a group, pre-purchase.

24 hours before scheduled departure. Closes 60 minutes before departure for most flights.
Does Norwegian fly to North America?
Not anymore — Norwegian discontinued long-haul operations in 2021. The airline now focuses on intra-European routes from Scandinavian hubs.
