How to check in online with Aegean Airlines

Have your booking reference and ID ready
You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

Use the button at the top of this page or visit aegeanair.com directly. Avoid third-party "check-in" sites.

Enter passenger details
Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

Choose seats and add extras
Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

Save the boarding pass
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The Aegean Airlines app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common Aegean Airlines check-in problems
GoLight fare excludes checked bag
Problem: Aegean's GoLight fare on intra-Europe excludes checked baggage.
Solution: Pre-pay during booking (~€35) or upgrade to GoSmart fare which includes 23 kg + free seat selection.
Greek island connections require careful timing
Problem: Aegean and Olympic Air (subsidiary) operate Greek island flights with tight connections; weather delays common.
Solution: Allow 2+ hours connection time at ATH for island flights, especially in summer when weather causes delays.

When does Aegean check-in open?
48 hours before scheduled departure for most flights — among the earliest of Star Alliance members. Closes 60 minutes before international, 45 minutes before Greek domestic.
Does Aegean operate Olympic Air flights?
Yes — Olympic Air is Aegean's subsidiary, operating regional flights within Greece. Both share Aegean's loyalty programme (Miles+Bonus).
