How to check in online with Turkish Airlines

Have your booking reference and ID ready
You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

Use the button at the top of this page or visit turkishairlines.com directly. Avoid third-party "check-in" sites.

Enter passenger details
Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

Choose seats and add extras
Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

Save the boarding pass
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The Turkish Airlines app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common Turkish Airlines check-in problems
Free Istanbul stopover requires lounge confirmation
Problem: THY's free Stopover programme (free city tour or hotel for long layovers) requires advance booking; check-in alone doesn't activate it.
Solution: Apply at least 72 hours before through stopover.turkishairlines.com. Bring confirmation email to the IST Touristanbul desk.
EcoFly fare excludes checked bag on European routes
Problem: The cheapest EcoFly fare on intra-Europe routes only includes hand baggage despite THY's reputation for generous allowance.
Solution: Check the fare class — Eco Standard / Premium and all long-haul routes still include 30 kg checked baggage.

When does Turkish Airlines check-in open?
24 hours before scheduled departure. Closes 90 minutes before for international flights and 60 minutes before for domestic.
Is the 30 kg baggage allowance really free?
Yes on most international routes (Eco Standard, Eco Premium, Business). On the cheapest EcoFly intra-Europe fare, only hand baggage is included.
What's a Turkish Airlines stopover?
If you have a connection of 7–24 hours at IST, you can apply for a free city tour or up to 2 free nights' hotel. Apply 72+ hours before.
