How to check in online with JetBlue

  1. Have your booking reference and ID ready

You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

  2. Open the official check-in page

Use the button at the top of this page or visit jetblue.com directly. Avoid third-party "check-in" sites.

  3. Enter passenger details

Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

  4. Choose seats and add extras

Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

  5. Save the boarding pass

Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The JetBlue app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common JetBlue check-in problems

Blue Basic excludes carry-on overhead bag on most domestic routes

Problem: JetBlue's cheapest fare 'Blue Basic' allows only a personal item under the seat — overhead carry-on costs extra.

Solution: Pre-pay the carry-on online ($30–$45) or upgrade to Blue (one tier up) which includes both personal and overhead carry-on.

TrueBlue points stripped if no-show

Problem: If you miss a Blue Basic flight without notifying JetBlue, you forfeit the entire fare — no rebooking, no refund.

Solution: If you can't make the flight, cancel via the app at least 1 hour before departure; you'll get a flight credit (less the cancellation fee for Blue Basic, free for Blue+ and above).
