How to check in online with flydubai

Have your booking reference and ID ready
You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

Open the official check-in page
Use the button at the top of this page or visit flydubai.com directly. Avoid third-party "check-in" sites.

Enter passenger details
Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

Choose seats and add extras
Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

Save the boarding pass
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The flydubai app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common flydubai check-in problems
Terminal 2 not Terminal 3 (Emirates)
Problem: flydubai operates from DXB Terminal 2, separate from Emirates Terminal 3. Many travelers expect EK + FZ to be co-located.
Solution: Inter-terminal transfer at DXB by free shuttle bus (15 min). Allow 90 min for EK→FZ connections via separate terminals.
EK + FZ codeshare baggage
Problem: Emirates + flydubai codeshare flights have different baggage rules per operating carrier. EK: usually 30 kg checked included; FZ: 20 kg from Pro fare.
Solution: Operating airline determines baggage. If EK number → emirates.com rules; FZ number → flydubai.com rules.

When does flydubai check-in open?
36 hours before scheduled departure. Closes 75 minutes before international, 60 minutes for some domestic GCC.
Is flydubai owned by Emirates?
Both flydubai and Emirates are owned by Dubai government's Investment Corporation. flydubai operates independently as Emirates' LCC partner — joint scheduling but separate AOC.
