Known issues at AMM with Royal Jordanian
Visa on arrival cash only
Problem: Jordan visa on arrival (45 JOD ~€60) requires cash — no card payment at the immigration counter.
Solution: Bring USD or EUR cash, or buy Jordan Pass online before flight (combines visa + Petra entry).
Petra connection requires careful planning
Problem: Many travelers want to combine RJ flight with Petra — but Amman to Petra is 3 hours each way.
Solution: Plan minimum 2 days in Jordan for Petra. JETT bus from Amman daily. Or use the bypass via Aqaba (closer to Petra).
