Known issues at SYD with Qantas
T1 ↔ T3 needs the T-Bus shuttle
Problem: Qantas international (T1) and domestic (T3) are across the runway. The free T-Bus runs every 10 minutes; allow 30 min transfer.
Solution: Allow 90+ minutes for international-to-domestic connections including bag re-check and security re-clearance. Tag your bag for the final destination if booked on a single ticket.
Australian biosecurity is strict
Problem: Brought food, plants, or wood items? Declare on the incoming card. Un-declared items found in baggage X-ray = automatic A$420+ fine.
Solution: Declare anything questionable. Customs/biosecurity often pass declared items through; lying gets you a fine and potentially a future-entry record.
