Known issues at FRA with Lufthansa
US-bound check-in blocked without APIS
Problem: Flights to the United States cannot complete online check-in until passport, address-on-arrival, and emergency contact are entered.
Solution: Open Manage Booking → Passenger Details and add full passport plus US destination address (hotel name and address) at least 24 hours before departure.
Long walk to Z gates (non-Schengen)
Problem: Z gates are in a separate concourse requiring 15–25 minutes from security including a passport-control checkpoint.
Solution: Allow 2.5 hours total at FRA for non-Schengen departures. The Z gates have signage in German and English; follow Z markings from after security.
Inter-terminal SkyLine adds 15+ minutes
Problem: Connecting from a T2 arrival to a T1 Lufthansa flight requires the SkyLine people-mover and re-clearing security.
Solution: Allow 90 minutes minimum connection time between terminals. Lufthansa's minimum connection time at FRA is 45 minutes for same-terminal, 60+ for cross-terminal.
