How to check in online with Iberia

Have your booking reference and ID ready
You'll need a 6-character booking reference (PNR) and a valid travel document (passport or EU/EEA national ID).

Open the official check-in page
Use the button at the top of this page or visit iberia.com directly. Avoid third-party "check-in" sites.

Enter passenger details
Add passport / ID number, expiry date, and country of issue if travelling internationally. This step is mandatory and blocks check-in if skipped.

Choose seats and add extras
Random seats are free in the 24-hour window; named seats and priority boarding cost extra. Skip if you don't need them.

Save the boarding pass
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The Iberia app stores it offline once downloaded.

Common Iberia check-in problems
Codeshare with British Airways needs BA check-in
Problem: On joint Iberia/BA codeshare flights, online check-in must be done with the operating airline (often BA from London).
Solution: Look at your boarding-pass airline code (IB or BA) and use that website.
Premium Economy meal pre-order required for long-haul
Problem: Iberia Premium Economy meal selection isn't set automatically; default is the standard option.
Solution: Use 'Manage My Booking' 24h+ before departure to choose meals (no charge).

When does Iberia check-in open?
36 hours before departure for short-haul intra-Europe flights; 24 hours for long-haul to North/South America.
Does Iberia include checked bag in basic fare?
Iberia Basic fare on intra-Europe routes does NOT include a checked bag (€30+). Iberia Standard and above include 23 kg. All long-haul fares include checked bag.
Can I check in for codeshare flights with another airline?
Yes — but you must check in with the operating airline (the one whose plane you're actually flying), not the marketing airline. Look at your boarding pass for the IATA code.
